Dr. Jamie Ellis is the Gahan Endowed Professor of Entomology in the Entomology and Nematology Department at the University of Florida. He has a BS degree in Biology from the University of Georgia (USA) and a PhD in Entomology from Rhodes University in South Africa. At the University of Florida, Jamie has responsibilities in Extension, instruction, and research. Regarding his Extension work, Jamie works with assorted clientele through diverse programming such as the UF/IFAS Bee College and the UF/IFAS Master Beekeeper Program. As an instructor, Jamie supervises PhD and masters students. Currently, Jamie and his team have over 30 active research projects in the fields of honey bee husbandry, conservation and ecology, and integrated crop pollination.

Our conference sessions are on new research and hot topics within the beekeeping industry such as legislative changes, new science information, honey trade & adulteration issues, and honey market & pollination reports.
Our trade show is one of the best beekeeping trade shows in the country and it's a highlight for the convention attendees to come and meet new companies and see new products.

1-Tour The Carl Hayden Bee Research Center
The CHBRC conducts research to optimize the health of honey bee colonies, through improved nutrition and control of Varroa mites in order to maximize production of honey bee pollinated crops.
2-Dinner at the Whistle Stop Depot
Get ready to be inspired! What was once an old warehouse, the Whistle Stop Depot has now been reborn into an iconic Tucson Venue location made from recycled, repurposed, reclaimed,
and hand made materials!
Come take a tour and you'll see it's not just the walls that tell a story! Every piece of the building is a piece of history!

Convention Bag Inserts
Every year we hand out hundreds of registration packets to the convention attendees. They always look forward to extra information and goodies in their bags.
You can have any inserts, brochures, pens, notepads, key chains, or anything else you would like to promote your business! You will need to provide the material you would like in the packet. There is no charge, you will just need to ship the items to the hotel.
This is a great way to advertise your business.
